- Purple heat map: Kernel Density of bus stops (no. of bus stops per square kilometer)
- Purple lines: Bus routes

- Kernel density demonstrates major destinations and stops for buses. High densities can be seen in areas in metropolis area including Cheung Sha Wan, Mong Kok, Central and Wan Chai.
- Major destination of commuters in the city can be identified.
Insights:
By analyzing bus stops density and bus stops per 1,000 population, below points can be concluded:
- In CBD (Central & Western and Wan Chai District), per 1,000 residents have at least 1 or above bus stops. This is due to the large amount of jobs provided and create commuting demand in the areas.
- Southern district has a relatively significant bus stop to population ratio. The reason behind can be the district being a popular destination for tourists, with attractions including Stanley, Ocean park, Shek O etc. Larger demand for public transport can be seen
- For districts located in Kowloon, lower bus stops to population can be seen. However, most districts in Kowloon has high bus stops density. This represents they are having high bus stop coverage despite their large population
- New Towns in the New Territories have a relatively lower numbers of bus stop density and population ratio than in urban areas, possibly due to the lack of tourist and employment in the districts, making residents the main type of passengers of bus service.
